ABOUT TIME

ABOUT TIME

When you never have the time to do anything

Time is a bitch. Time is temporary. Time is a memory. Time is rich.

Time is a lot of things and we’ll always be living in this undefeated hourglass. Think about it, how did you spend your last complete 24 hour? Maybe you were busy as fuck or maybe you sat on your ass all day watching TV. The truth is, there are no right ways to use your time, you use it as you want. I’m sure you’ve heard of it, but time is precious, sometimes it’s a clock running against us, but it still is one of the world’s basics nature. We are born, we live, we learn, we grow, we say goodbye, we enjoy, we cry, we grow again, we change, we see the world, we die. We’re all dying at the end, and it all comes from one unique thing; time.

Assuming

Most of the people assume they’ll have time. They say, oh I’ll see this person another time, I’ll do this for me another time, I’ll buy this another time, etc. However, if there’s one thing we’ll never fully be able to know, is how much sand we have left in that hourglass of ours. It’s like, it starts when we’re born, but it’s always behind our back. We’ll never see it, we’ll never be able to look at it or guess how much time there’s left before that one last seed falls of the top and our body shuts down. Come to think of it, it really is crazy, but it’s true.

When we assume, we don’t take good care enough. If we don’t take good care enough, we’ll regret it one day.

Maybe start looking around you and look at how much you complain or how much you’re always hating; around you is life, it ain’t perfect, but you aren’t either. You’re able to change your perception though, and you should, because what’s around you might be annoying but it’s still beautiful because you’re there to notice it.

Will you have the time to do that tomorrow? Shit you don’t even know if you’ll have the time to be alive tomorrow. You don’t even know if THIS person will still have her hourglass flowing tomorrow. Never assume anything. Be grateful for this time whether it is joyful or not, because in the end, it’s still is time.

I am a busy motherfucker.

By the Cambridge dictionary, [running] is the activity of going somewhere quickly on foot, as a sport or for pleasure. Yet, I have another definition; [running] can also be the moments where you (think) you are lacking time, therefore, doing multiple tasks or things at a time so you get everything completed before a certain date & hour. It is exhausting fucking Christ. How many times a week do you set your brain on speed mode in order to do the most, the quickest? I’ll tell you how many; too many. We’re all there exhausting our brains out because we need to do this list of tasks for work, get all of this done for the house, workout, get the kids where they need to be, buy this gift for your half nephew’s birthday, get the passports done before the trip, etc. etc. We run around all the time, it makes us feel alive, but most of the time, we just want to set pause and lay down. I know how hard it can be to be busy and try to give equal time to every facets of your life, or at least try. When we have too much on our plate we prioritize and sometimes, short term talking the priority IS number one, but long term? Probably isn’t that important compared to the others.

Look I am a stressed motherfucker, I can be anxious on multiple things and used to let time rule my ass. Where did it got me? At my lowest. If you want to get everything done, you have to learn to LET GO. That means, taking the time for the things that really do matter to you. The values that are completely set at the roots of your soul, these are the things that matter long term. Take the time to be with the people that matters, take the time to watch your kids at their soccer game, take the time to call a loved one that’s living far away whom you don’t see very often, take the time to sit back and do nothing, take the time to do a little thing that will make you happier today, take the time to buy your other half flowers or whatever they like. Just. Take. The. Time. You’ll do that other thing when the time comes, but long-term speaking, prioritizing YOUR hourglass sand on the most amazing things in your life, is worth it.

Everybody is able to make time, they just have to find the courage to let go of other things or push them further in the calendar.

Gratitude & wealth

You know the expression, ‘’time is money’’? Well, I think time is wealth. Because, how could you have made all this money without time? Money is not the question here though, life is. Learn to be grateful for all this time you had until now, many people would do anything to have this much time with someone they loved. Yes yes, money and work are important for you to live a healthy life, but what does it give you to live a healthy life if you take it for granted and think the people around will always be there? It’ll give you regrets one day.

I was always anxious and thinking ‘’When I’ll be there I’ll feel better, when I’ll have that it’ll be better, when we’ll be in summer, I’ll feel better, etc.’’ But then the day, thing or season came and I didn’t feel any better, if not worse. I started being grateful for whatever position or routine I’m in because I might not be in total harmony with it right now, but one day or another I’ll miss it for whatever reason or I’ll regret I didn’t enjoy as much as I would now. Now I know how much I liked this moment and truly, it makes me a happier person. The time is right now, take it and feel grateful you have it, you’ll be enjoying life much more and that is what it’s about. Enjoying the time we have. Making the every last seed of sand worth it.

Your whole life, you’ll be living through amazing moments, you’ll have toughest ones but until your very last second, you’ll be living through time, you may as well choose to put your energy towards what makes you feel best, or at least what makes you feel anything at all. Time is never coming back, this very second isn’t coming back, remember that.

If you always think you’re too busy, remember that you’ll never be too busy for the right things, you just have to determine what are these right things and whether or not you’re willing to make time for them.

Enjoy your time, you deserve it.

Love ya
