Younger, I really thought that having multiple common interests with someone and being very similar to them could make both of you fall in love more easily than two people being completely different. To me, that was the way. That if two people are really different and are on each side of the balance, they couldn’t possibly find a way to be in love together. Although, we know love knows no bounds, so is it really that true? Are we really bound to be in love with someone that’s alike to us? I read somewhere that said you have to be the person you want to date, but…do we? Should we?
Websites & shenanigans
So I’ve made some research, lots of people like to say that two alike entities are most likely to be in a long lasting relationship because there are less arguments, because they agree more easily with each other, because they have similar interests, etc. They connect in the way of two negatives together equaling a positive. What I’m trying to say is that they know who they are, and they are looking through someone else’s eyes just to see some comfort of their own person. Because they’re alike. Maybe they fall in love with that comfort? I don’t know about that one, but I do know they tend to do the things they BOTH like/enjoy, together rather than alone because both parties enjoy what’s happening. Whereas two opposites might not have the same hobbies which would conclude on them spending less time together? Or they’d try each other’s cup of tea.
While my research made me see that opposites are bound to have arguments, to not understand each other, to be far much apart and just drift away in the end, I think my opinion differs from what I read. Everything is true, but isn’t it pushed too much onto the negative? Maybe those points are positive ones.
Opinions I gathered
Mothaaa
She’s for opposites.
Second brother
He says he’s not sure, that it depends the people, some are more suited for opposites and other for similarity. Interesting.
First brother
I didn’t ask him because I’m pretty sure his answer would have been ‘’Dunno, why you asking me that anyway? You got a date? LIAR YOU DO HAVE A DATE? Who is it? Not a hockey player uh?’’ …Something like that.
Bestie
She says she’d prefer opposites, but not opposites that are too far away because then, they could lose sight of each other.
Wise queen.
Sister
Her opinion is the same as Second brother, they can’t quite make up their mind because they say ‘’it depends on the situation and the persons’’.
Although she says she could never have someone that ALWAYS agrees with her.
Fellas, prepare those arguments… (just kidding).
I could’ve gotten more but that’s not a street interview (although I do love those), this is data, and my data says…
Opposites rule
When you think about it, similarity is comforting, like a fireplace. Opposite is like having an afternoon full of sun after a gloomy, rainy, dark morning. It’s weird, you were in the mood to watch Netflix all day and now it’s time to go to the beach? However, you get to experience both weather on the same day which is kind of really nice.
My point being: both rules.
…Depending on the people and the situation LOL.
Bounddd to fallinnn in loveee 🎶
Whatever’s meant to happen will happen right? You might be meant to someone, but only for so long. You also are probably meant for someone forever. So maybe you think you’re made for similar but opposite’s the real love of your life or vice versa. Now let’s get to thinking. This is my first official WAI Blog test. I name it…
WAI Blog’s first compatibility test
So original I know. (I’m out of ideas for names, sue me I’m tired).

Do you prefer Fettucine or Linguine?
FETTUCINE / LINGUINE / THEY’RE THE SAME
Do I have to explain to you what team you’re on depending on what answers you gave? I mean, if you chose THEY’RE THE SAME, what planet are you on? Google it, Fettucine are at least two inches wider.
No really, if you have mostly YES, you’d probably enjoy dating someone similar.
If you have mostly NO, you’re definitely into opposites-completes type of relationship.
However, no test is going to tell you who/what you’re truly meant for. You just have to let life lead you there.
Honestly an opposite girly
Not in the ‘’opposite syndrome’’ type of way, but in the, two people that complete each other are absolutely adorable type of way.
In my opinion, opposites are two people that differ on so many things yet have the love thing in common. They bring each other up by putting their different output on situations and making the other understand another way of thinking. It’s the way they bring a different shade of a different color in the other’s life and make them bloom by learning together. Also, I think that people that are opposites really challenge each other because they have to understand the person they love, but for that they need communication and understanding, not assuming because ‘’we think the same & that’s what I would think’’. The one thing to me, is the arguments, a couple that’s similar may face less arguments, which can be more peaceful. However, arguments also make a couple bloom, because they bring the communication, obstacles AND reconciliation which is another step of intimacy.
Opposites are balanced and may seem far, but something’s bringing them together.
Who you fall in love with, can never be under your control, it just, happens. So similar or not, just let yourself be with the person you want to be. With the right communication, intentions and actions, every relationship can last, if it’s meant to. If not, well it may have been a similarity or opposite issue, but it mainly just wasn’t the person that was supposed to stay in your life that way forever.
Now, what do YOU really think? Opposites attract or two negative = one positive?
