Oh to feel the sun on your skin, watch the early sunrises & late sunsets, getting back your golden skin, freckles, BBQs everywhere, do you want me to go on? Seriously, summer is right around the corner and manyof us are pretty happy. Although, something I learned in the last two years is that you should enjoy each days even though they’re not part of your favorite season. However, when your favorite season is coming, it can surely give you a little high of happiness. I’d say my favs are summer & fall, and I don’t think I really enjoyed my summers until I started enjoying every other season throughout the year. Anyways that’s not the point, the point is, this week, simply summer. Summer in all its wonderful colors. Summer in my opinion.
Joy
It’s like everyone has defrosted from winter and is now glowing again. It feels like you can finally see the people underneath all these layers of clothes we all were wearing for months (love the layering in winter though, so comfy & cozy). Anyways, you can see everyone feels a little bit happier.
Walking down a street you meet so many other people, families in parks, friends everywhere, picnics, popsicles, sunglasses, school is done, etc. Maybe I’m wrong but people look happier this time of year.
Vacation
TIMEE FOR A VACAAYYY.
We all have at least one fucking day of vacation in the summer because why would we not take the time to enjoy this amazing season??? Why do you think Construction weeks are in July? We’re all either traveling somewhere or going to a cabin or going to see some family, or just spending time at home and relaxing. Savoure the shit out of this vacay please.
Tan & outfits
Summer outfits. They’re ‘’chef’s kiss’’ I lov’em.
It’s like you’re dressing simply because it’s hot outside, but it’s also festive so you can wear as much color or jewels or accessories as you want. Of course you can do that in every other seasons too, but to me, summer just feels more right to do so. I mean just the festival’s outfits are AMAZING. It’s so hot outside no one even cares what the fuck you’re wearing and that’s beautiful.
AND THE TAN. How proud are we all when we see our tan lines?? We all feel it don’t act as you don’t. You do. We all do. We love a good tan sesh even though we’re sweating our asses off lol.
Food
Food is my favorite thing on Earth everyday, but summer food? Summer food is a delish.
BBQ every week, oh my gosh BBQs are heavenly good, and the salads???? Oh the salads are everywhere, new recipes on every platforms, yet always a good fucking taste. I’m a sucker for a good salad. Funny story, when eating dinners with my family if there’s salad, I will be the one ending the night with the salad bowl eating the rest of it.
It’s also ice cream time and it is so nice and cute to just go out and eat an ice cream with people you love and then you see other people doing the same, it’s kinda dark outside or there’s a sunset and people are just vibing, you hear the noise, the music, love is all around the place, and life is good.
Let’s not forget it becomes the time where I don’t freeze my ass just to drink an iced coffee, they will definitely be more pleasant.
Movies
Summer movies give me so much comfort I love them, such as Dirty Dancing & Grown Ups.
Spontaneity
Maybe it isn’t, but I feel like it’s easier to be spontaneous in summer, I mean you don’t have a car or an entry to clear from snow, the days are longer, the weather is pleasant, etc.
Last summer just waking up earlier before work and going in the pool or going somewhere a bit later than usual on a week day, taking a little last minute road trip somewhere, etc. made me so much happier and I enjoyed everyday a bit more. I guess we can do all that in winter too, but for whatever reasons, I happen to think it’s easier in summer. I really think it’s because the days are longer, the weather makes our mental health better, and other reasons I am not aware of LOL.
More freedom
I love summer because I can just go have a yoga session in my yard, because I can go to the grocery store in my sandals, because I can wear a cami and clothes I’m comfortable in outside without needing a thousand layers in case I feel cold, because in summer you can have a last minute dinner with another family eating outside and enjoying every moment of it. Because summer feels like a bliss, like a special moment throughout the year that is filled with happiness and colors which we all end up missing around the time we have snow in our boots, a 7 days old cold, and Expedia south travel advertisements in our emails. It’s ok that we miss it because that’s how we enjoy it more when it comes.
In the end, you take summer the way you want it too, the most important part is that you enjoy it. Try to find a way to enjoy every moment of every seasons, but your favorite is right around the corner and you better have the fucking time of your life. I’m wishing you a great one, lots of ice cream, sunsets, sunrises, activities, love (summer love stories we see you coming), water (always hydrate especially in the hot season), beaches, tattoos, new clothes and whatever the fuck you want for yourself this summer.
